Electrician – Fort Erie

Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a full time, permanent Electrician for our new Fort Erie Plant, a state-of-the-art, 200,000+ square foot manufacturing facility expected to be online in 2025. This position will train at our Mississauga plant and then relocate to the Fort Erie area.

This position is responsible for the troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading and problem solving of electrical and maintenance issues in the plant. This individual will install and maintain electrical equipment and power supplies. Performs other maintenance duties to support maintenance team as required.

Main Duties

  1. Works in compliance with approved safety regulations
  2. Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment
  3. Sources/fabricates replacement electrical components
  4. Tests electrical systems e.g. ground, bond and other protective devices
  5. Manages and suggests spare electrical components to be kept in stock
  6. Provides input into the preventative maintenance systems at the Siltech facilities
  7. Ensures plant is in compliance with all codes related to electrical regulations
  8. Performs various maintenance activities based on work orders assigned
  9. Performs daily checks and preventative maintenance work on equipment
  10. Creates and interprets electrical drawings
  11. Redlines electrical single line diagrams and provides regular copies to the Engineering Assistant
  12. Resolves complex electrical systems failures
  13. Supervises and co-ordinates electrical contractors
  14. Point of contact for project owners and electrical vendors
  15. Ensures adherence to the site wide electrical classification drawings
  16. In conjunction with the instrumentation technician, installs and commissions control logic (including equipment and programming) as assigned to by the project manager.

Knowledge Required

  1. Construction and Maintenance License 309A
  2. Must possess current Master Electrician license (Red Seal)
  3. Good knowledge of equipment specifications and how they work
  4. Knowledge of industrial electrics, instrumentation, mechanical repair procedures
  5. In-depth experience in the application of the above skills within the chemical processing industry
  6. Knowledge of electrical classification areas and equipment.

Essential Work Experience

  1. Minimum 5 years as a licensed electrician
  2. Minimum 2 years in an industrial plant, preferably in a chemical production plan.
