Siltech Corporation, a Canadian-owned Chemical company, is looking to hire immediately 1 full time, permanent Electrician for our Mississauga facility.
This position is responsible for the troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading and problem solving of electrical and maintenance issues in the plant. In addition, this individual will install and maintain electrical equipment and power supplies. Performs other maintenance duties to support maintenance team as required.
Main Duties:
- Maintains and repairs site electrical systems to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Documents all electrical work on the electrical system (including maintenance) in on-site record books as part of the Continuous Safety Services (CSS) program.
Duties and responsibilities
- Works in compliance with approved safety regulations
- Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment
- Sources/fabricates replacement electrical components
- Tests electrical systems e.g. ground, bond and other protective devices
- Manages and suggests spare electrical components to be kept in stock
- Provides input into the preventative maintenance systems at the Siltech facilities
- Ensures plant is in compliance with all codes related to electrical regulations
- Performs various maintenance activities based on work orders assigned
- Performs daily checks and preventative maintenance work on equipment
- Creates and interprets electrical drawings
- Redlines electrical single line diagrams and provides regular copies to the Engineering Assistant
- Resolves complex electrical systems failures
- Supervises and co-ordinates electrical contractors
- Point of contact for project owners and electrical vendors
- Ensures adherence to the site wide electrical classification drawings
- In conjunction with the instrumentation technician, installs and commissions control logic (including equipment and programming) as assigned to by the project manager
Qualifications
- Must possess current Master Electrician license (Red Seal)
- Good knowledge of equipment specifications and how they work
- Knowledge of industrial electrics, instrumentation, mechanical repair procedures.
- In-depth experience in the application of the above skills within the chemical processing industry
- Knowledge of electrical classification areas and equipment
- Minimum 5 years as a licensed electrician.
- Minimum 2 years in an industrial plant, preferably in a chemical production plant
