Siltech Corporation, a Canadian-owned Chemical company, is looking to hire immediately a full-time, permanent Chemical Process Engineer in Training.
This opportunity offers a full Benefits and Pension package. This position is based out of our Mississauga location but will also support the Toronto Plant.
This role will be focused on Process Engineering, Process Optimization, Process Safety and Project Engineering under the direct supervision of the Senior Process Engineer.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Safely introduce new products and processes through process and equipment design and process safety reviews.
- Participate in product scale-up or transfer between plants.
- Improve Manufacturing processes by monitoring plant performance and identifying and eliminating plant processing issues and bottlenecks.
- Perform environmental reporting (NPRI, ChemTRAC, ESDM, EWRB, etc.)
- Provide Capital Engineering Support including P&ID validations, preliminary process design support work, contractor and permit auditing, contractor supervision and equipment installation and startup.
- Implement new safety systems through the use of logic, interlocks, alarms etc.
- Participate in process and incident investigations.
- Address and resolve plant incident reports.
- Write plant operating SOP’s.
Knowledge Required:
- Unit Operations (Reactors, Condensers, Distillation Columns, Filtration Systems, Pumps, Valves, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Windows (Word, Excel) and (AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio a plus)
- Technical drawing interpretation (P&IDs)

The successful candidate will possess, or is working towards, a Chemical Engineering degree and Professional Engineering Certification (P.Eng) and will have 1-5 years of engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
