Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a full time, permanent Lead Hand Shipper/Receiver for our new Fort Erie Plant, a state-of-the-art, 200,000+ square foot manufacturing facility expected to be online in 2025. This position will initially train at our Mississauga plant for approximately 2 months and then relocate to the Fort Erie area.
Job Overview
This position will play a pivotal role in establishing efficient shipping and receiving operations. You will oversee day-to-day activities, ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently while setting the tone for safety and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the initial setup and organization of the new warehouse, including layout, storage systems, shipping supplies and tools and the flow of goods.
- Ensure that all inventory is stored according to safety regulations and best practices for easy access and minimal risk.
- Ensure that the warehouse is always organized and clean.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound packaged goods shipments, and offload bulk liquid materials at outside tank far.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members as the warehouse operation expands.
- Coordinate necessary shipping, determine appropriate methods of shipping and prepare relevant paperwork.
- Ensure accurate customs procedures are followed for all out of country shipments.
- Prepare required receiving documents for inbound shipments.
- Unload, receive and stock inbound items to inventory.
- Perform accurate inventory cycle counts.
- Provide routine warehouse housekeeping.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Basic computer knowledge
- Forklift Safety Certification required – Narrow Aisle/Raymond Reach
- WHMIS, TDG, and Hazardous Waste Classification training
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and maintain order accuracy
- Willing and able to handle the physical demands of the job
- Excellent customer service skills
- 3 years Lead Hand Warehouse experience in a Manufacturing facility, preferably a Chemical Manufacturing facility.
